Bradley Whitford: Why I’m supporting Adam Hamilton for Senate in Kansas

Hey, it’s Bradley Whitford. You may know me from “The West Wing,” “The Handmaid’s Tale,” or, more recently, “The Diplomat.” But I’m not here to talk about fictional Washington drama or dystopian worlds – because right now, we’re dealing with the real thing.

Our government is failing the American people, plain and simple. Washington politicians are sowing hate and division, making life harder for our families, and enriching themselves and their corporate allies at the expense of working people.

On November 3, we have a chance to hold them accountable and elect leaders like Adam Hamilton, a lifelong pastor in Kansas who’s running for Senate to restore honesty and common decency to our government. Will you join in supporting Adam’s campaign with a donation today to help him flip this seat?

Over the last several months, Adam’s inspiring grassroots campaign has put Kansas on the map. What experts once thought was a safe seat for Republican Sen. Roger Marshall is now one of the closest races in the country, with polls showing a dead heat and political analysts like Nate Silver and Steve Kornacki calling it a toss-up.

It’s easy to see why. Adam has traveled all over Kansas listening to the people he hopes to serve and sharing his vision of a government run by people who put service before self, people before politics and country before party. This is what we desperately need in Washington. That’s why Adam’s message caught my eye, and I think that’s why it’s resonating with so many others.

How he’s done it is just as remarkable. Adam’s received donations from all 105 counties in Kansas and built his grassroots campaign without accepting a cent from corporate PACs. His opponent, on the other hand, is backed by some of the largest super PACs in the country, who are spending millions to try and save this seat for Sen. Marshall.

That’s why Adam urgently needs our help. He has the courage and vision to be a champion for Kansans in the Senate, but it’s up to us to make sure he has the resources to get there, particularly during these final, pivotal days in the race.
